Eventful Friends

The Event ~ Minnesota - October 2018

Between Jon's football games in October, Tim and I took a road trip to Minnesota. We first went to Jon's football game in Norfolk, NE. Jon had an awesome season playing football as a junior and we look forward to his senior year games. We spent the nite in Norfolk, and then journeyed North. Our first stop was at Dianne and Jerry Olson's home in Clark, SD. Dianne was one of the Magnificent 7 girls from our college days. From there we did a laid back road trip through the Red River Valley along the Minnesota/North Dakota border. Such black fertile soil. We stopped at the headwaters of the Mississippi River near Bemiji, Minnesota.

On the way back south through the middle part of the state, we again stayed off the interstate and just enjoyed the journey, heading south to Ida Grove, Iowa where we spent a day with Tom and Betty Stewart, Betty was also one of us Magnificent 7 from college days.

We got back to Omaha to enjoy the next football game that Jon played.

The Event ~ San Francisco - June 2018

I flew to San Francisco to spend a week with Alexis the end of June 2018. We had a great time going to Farmers Markets and Street Festivals, a big annual concert in Golden Gate Park. We walked all the way back to Alexis' house afterwards. We went hiking along the ocean, and drove north to little quaint towns. It was a good time together.

The Event ~ Costa Rica - February 2018

Another bucket list trip - Costa Rica. When it is cold in Nebraska, go south! So we did. All the way to Costa Rica to enjoy another bus tour trip. It was a great trip and the tour guide was above and beyond - an amazing guide. The food was sooo good! Fresh fruits all the time and especially pineapple!

The Event ~ Washington DC - April 2018

Well, I retired January 31, 2017, looking forward to all kinds of extra time to do what I enjoyed, including blogging. It has been two years now, and I haven't done much blogging at all. TOO BUSY! We have taken a few trips in the last two years, so I will try to record these trip events.

In April 2018 Tim and I went to Washington D.C., road tripping with a bus tour group leaving from Lincoln NE. D.C. was on my bucket list, and this road trip tour sounded like the perfect opportunity, especially since it made stops at the Indianapolis 500 speedway and the Kentucky Derby grounds.

It was the perfect time as the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Here are some of our D.C. pictures.
