The Event ~ Wipeout!

The year was 1964.  I was an eighth grader.  The new hit was "Wipeout".   We  (kids) all  loved it.  We enjoyed dancing to it on the upper floor of the American Legion Hall at the many youth dances they had there every month. 

The year is 2012.  My oldest grandson is an eighth grader.  He got an electric guitar for Christmas.  The two of us hang out in the living room together while he shows me this cool guitar and he plays me a tune on it.  He plays "Wipeout".  It's the first song he learned.  Perfect song to showcase an electric guitar, and to showcase his beginning skills. 

There is a 48-year span between my eighth grade year and his eighth grade year.  "Wipeout" has bridged that span.   Truly an awesome event!  Thank you Jakob!
